In the last 50 years, the population of India has increased by 3 times while the population of elderly is increased by 4 times. There were 7 Crore elders in 2001’s census which crossed 10 Crores in 2011. A study conducted by United Nations Organization (amended 1996) shows that 11% of the people aged 80 years and above. In India, the condition of elders is so worse that they may be seen begging around temples, tombs, on roads and intersections. Most of them are those who have no one or left by loved their ones with no source of income, homeless and forced to spend their entire life on roads. An orphanage is operated by Help the children in Vindhyachal, district Mirzapur where all necessities like accommodation, food, clothing, health security, social security are provided so that our elder can get happiness towards the end of life.
